I am, though. So very afraid. I've even taken to trolling my own Astros-heavy group text for the last month in a blatantly transparent defense mechanism move.
The time is now for the Astros, they should do whatever it takes. This is why they went through that awful stretch of sucking, to be in the position to be able to go for it like this.
I agree. Yet here the clock sits, tick tick tick. I just know they will let me down.

Adrian Beltre is the best.

Just goes to show that you can't predict baseball.

Pretty nice deal for the Twins mid season.
Well, he did go 1-0 for us while he was here.
Truthfully, I think the Twins' skid over the past week has been a good thing. They were not as good as their record. I'd like to see Santana and Kintzler traded as well.

Even before the Bowie namedrop I thought "shit this sounds like bowie" when Golden Age started up.

It's a nice deal for the Twins since they took on Garcia's full contract from the Braves to reduce the prospect cost and then retained it all in flipping him to the Yankees to get better prospects.

Happy for Beltre. I hope someone touches his head at his HOF induction.

The Jays entered last week with one walk-off grand slam in their 40 year team history. Steve Pearce has hit two in the last four days.

gotta love crazy stats like that.
Brett Gardner became only the 3rd Yankee ever, to end a game with a walk off home run, and then lead the next game off with a home run. And Rickey Henderson was not one of the other two (forget who they were)

The Red Sox give up 17 walk-off grand slams per year, so there's that.

Is that an average?

Wasn't sure about this deal for Liriano when I first heard about it, but not really seeing a huge downside now. We give up Aoki and a minor leaguer for some veteran (albeit old) LH help in relief? And we elevate Derek Fisher to a more permanent role? Not bad.

Good move for both teams. The Jays trade a guy who isn't very good for a real prospect, the Astros can change his role and making him a LOOGY and they give up a guy that was blocked in their system anyway.
