Me too. But I'm not a big fan of either on SNL.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. Never liked Wiig. She was tolerable in small doses, but mostly annoying.

Deathgasm

Awesome cheesy, gory, funny heavy metal/zombie movie.

Watched The Godfather Epic (the 7-hour, chronological cut of the first two movies that I mentioned a few pages ago) yesterday and today. It was quite a ride and everything, but I definitely prefer the two movies the way they were originally handled. None of the added footage really altered the movie in any meaningful way, and some of them had real bad dubbing, which was distracting. I will say, though, that I was glad (mild spoilers ahead)
Spoiler: show
...that they kept the flashback that ends Part II where it was instead of trying to shoehorn it between the two movies. It wouldn't have worked anywhere else.

I forgot to ask: should I watch The Godfather Part III? Will it just make me sad? I've never had any desire to.

I would recommend not seeing it, if you can resist the curiousity.

Despite the drop in quality, 3 is an essential piece of the trilogy thematically. The ending is clarifies the entire meaning of all the films, and it's one of my favorite scenes ever.

Watched Come Back to the Five & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean. I started it late last night expecting to just watch the TCM intro and the first minute or two to get a taste, but wound up getting sucked in and staying up later than I should have to finish it. What a stunning movie. A haunting microcosm of human and American experience. It makes me excited that there are still so many Altman movies I've yet to see.

Sweet. I've only seen:

Popeye
The Player
Short Cuts
The Gingerbread Man
Gosford Park
A Prairie Home Companion

Those last two are my favorites. What else is a must-see? I've been meaning to watch Nashville for years.
McCabe & Mrs. Miller and The Long Goodbye are essential.
