The first episode of The Curse was something, alright. That was uncomfortable even by Nathan Fielder standards, yet I couldn't look away! I get the sense it's only going to get more uncomfortable and unsettling from here.

It's just on another level. It's doing a weird, subtle meta thing and a lot of people will just think it's boring. I think I'm loving it the more I watch it.

Safdie's character might be the best part of the show.

Also, heads up tree - the episodes are being released weekly. Only 5 are available so far (episode 6 is coming Friday). I think there are going to be 10 episodes total.

It's also on Paramount+, so you could get a free trial of that once they're all released.

What I kind of love about The Curse is that Nathan Fielder has now fully turned the joke on himself. Nathan For You is a show that makes fun of people who are willing to do anything, to go along with anything, just because a guy with a camera tells them to do it.
The Rehearsal is similar.
The joke on The Curse is entirely about the people making the show. They are the desperate ones, willing to make any compromise, fake any scenario, do whatever it takes to be on TV. The people they're supposedly helping who appear on the show could barely care less

astute, asher

also, even nathan as an "actor" on the show itself... you can take it there too. He's sure as hell pushing his acting chops to the limit to try to appear like a genuine dramatic actor. I'm not sure if he even knows if this is a joke or not. It's funny as hell to me, though.

Started the new season of Reacher last night. Looks like the first three eps dropped yesterday. Interesting storyline this season involving some of his past. Not sure if it was based on any particular book. Wouldn’t really matter, if so since I’ve never read any of them.
