I just keep thinking back to how great episodes 2 & 3 of this season are. Two of the best of the entire series. This show really can work marvelous wonders.

I will say, as much as I've enjoyed this journey, as much as I've loved watching this show, as much as the spectacle of it all remains unrivaled in modern TV history... I'm not sure that, these last two eps aside, I would put this in the top ten achievements in Television storytelling. Maybe. But I don't think so.

And that's not meant to be a knock on the show. It's achieved so much. But it'll be interesting to see how the living, in-real-time, mythology of the show settles.

But, we sometimes put too much emphasis on endings. Regardless of how it wraps up, it's been an amazing journey.

You’re really relegating 8 entire seasons of fantastic writing and tv because you don’t like the last two episodes? Or even seasons?

Pound for pound it’s better than Anything out there or has come in years.

And it will be a long time before we see something so well written and so well made again.

Well, to your first question, no. Clearly, you're not reading my posts. I've said time and time again that regardless of the last two episodes, the journey has been amazing and the show is an overall major achievement. So, what the fuck are you reading?

It is not better than anything out there or has come in years. As good as it is, I still don't think it's a top 10 of all time show. And that opinion stands aside from what I think of the last couple of episodes. As a spectacle it is unmatched. But there are better TV shows out there.

The production values are outstanding. The overall acting is absolutely among the best I've ever seen from an ensemble in a long, long time. But the writing has always been uneven and disappointing. There have been moments of total brilliance, but the overall it has always been flawed. The fact that the show has maintained the level of quality that it has over the years IN SPITE of the writing is a testament to the level of craft and work that the cast and crew have provided, for sure.
