When I learned this, I was kind of disappointed. The choice to open and close the song like that made more sense. I prefered it the other way. Thanks for reading this post.

I agree. But if we're counting live albums, I think Live At Leeds is their peak.

I've listened to Live at Leeds countless times but man does that release have some studio massaging and wonky reissue history.

Sort of...here's a rundown of the various version:

Original Album = editing/echo effects/backing vocal overdubs/crackling & analog master tape issues
Expanded CD = digital remix/editing/less echo effects/backing & lead vocal overdubs/crackling removed
Deluxe CD = same as expanded CD but mastered poorly and with a poor mix of Tommy
Deluxe Hi-Res Download = entirely new mix, similar to expanded CD with superb mastering but no lead vocal overdubs, and finally an excellent mix of Tommy!
Live At Leeds Complete (bootleg) = 100% complete and raw but still with backing vocal overdubs from 1970, mix is very good, there is a great fan-remastered version that fixes speed and tape issues

The deluxe download is the best "official" version, and the expanded CD is also excellent if you don't care about Tommy. The deluxe 2-CD is horrible.
