I had a health department ask me how they should assist a long-term care facility that asked them to come vaccinate their staff and residents with COVID. The answer is, that the LTCF should sign up for the federal program that allows them to work with local pharmacies to get everyone vaccinated. We sent them all the info.

Oh, well, this facility declined to be in that program. They need help, they just didn't want it through that program.

Please, help me. What can I say other than, "well fuck that place and their stupid fucking staff!"??

why do you suppose they don't want to go through the federal program? gov't mistrust?

They want the fucking government vaccine.

Yeah, it's a departure from how we've done vaccines in the past, but they're just certain that you can't mix and match these vaccines.

If you get Pfizer and Pfizer runs out before your second dose, you have to start over with another brand. Then you've sucked at least 3 doses out of the supply, instead of just 2.

I'm sure the argument at the CDC to decide this was long and loud.

I think it is slowing dawning on people in Canada that much of next year will look like this year. Our province looks to have less than 5% of people vaccinated by end of March. Those will be front line workers and those in care homes. We can expect restrictions on store, restaurant, bar, hotels and possibly travel through the summer and most likely fall. In Canada due to the fact that the government controls both the supply and when you get the vaccination, there will not be any easing of restrictions for those vaccinated. They'll be made to wear a mask even though they are not a risk to get or spread Covid.

I don’t believe it’s been proven yet that the vaccinated can’t still be carriers. And the vaccine isn’t 100% effective either.
