It's a very cute wordgame all the folks that feel the need to defend Twitter are playing.
The worst part is that it actually works on a sizeable chunk of the population.

Just imagine what a paradise the world would be if everyone were as smart as Burt and Simple Schoolboy.

Curse our stupidity!
Interestingly, the posts following this seem to indicate they might finally be getting it.

Insanity:

There are literally dozens of countries (and plenty of run-of-the-mill assholes) that would have had the skills required to go in and post under @POTUS or something similar.

If you listed out all of Burt’s beliefs/ideals, you would see that he’s pretty contradictory. He’s the Alex Jones of RM pretty much

I can see why I would seem contradictory to people whose beliefs can be wholly known by looking up the platforms of one of the major political parties.

sort of joking about Musk being a great man, though I hope you are joking as well about "this nonsense about 'free speech'."

What was the reasoning behind Twitter using the terms "blacklist" and "allowlist"? The former surely must be considered more problematic than "whitelist".

Also, Popehat quit Twitter, drama queen that he is.

They can't rely on the nest of vipers at Twitter to back them up anymore so they're taking their ball and going home.

Twitter is like a massive group text. 99% noise, 1% signal. The difference is that signal is real time thoughts from some of the most prominent politicians, journalists, academics, and activists in the world, which means it has importance. How it's users interpret that signal is how to determine if it has value and if nothing else the last few weeks illustrate how many people with substantial wealth and power believed it to have real value in shaping the world. If they believed it, we probably should too.

i think twitter is important in the sense that you can truly learn from the various accounts. what i dont get is following people you hate. its like how a strong percentage of people who contributed to howard sterns numbers were people who hated him and waited for him to say something shocking so they could complain
