the larger point being something being simple, or easily discoverable, or comparatively basic doesn't speak to whether or not it is good or bad, or even boring or interesting. It matters how it is used in context, and how it interacts with the other elements of the performance.tree_ wrote:Still weren't fairly representing my actual point.stip wrote:well to be fair, I didn't say I'm a great author either.

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
Yes. It's boring. Not necessarily because the lack of creativity in the chord structure, but it doesn't help. I didn't say it's why I don't like the song. That's mostly because Ed sounds like a drowning goat in heat.VinylGuy wrote:why is that a bad thing? ramones had great songs that were easy. My main problem with the song is that its not that interesting nor new. I like the chaotic element on in, love the production but its just an ok song for me.tree_ wrote:I'm not saying I'm a great guitar player. That's exactly my point. I'm saying any dooface who picks up a guitar and googles how to play a power chord and strum in 4/4 will probably stumble across this progression in 5 minutes.stip wrote:And I'm a published author so I am excellent at identifying when letters of the alphabet are used.

I'd actually be impressed to hear him strum this chord progression like this and do something interesting with it.

I wonder if Matt had varied his beat if there would be less unhappiness with this track
as referred to many times
he is capable of much more
yet with PJ he plays the role of a caricature of what he feels like a PJ drummer should sound like
which is generally a poppy, happy, quirky, young person
rather than the spawn of mephistopheles (soundgarden)

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Not sure why I drew that conclusion. My apologies

Gigaton tracks compared to famous political lines and their effect on RM:
Dance if the Clairvoyants = “yes we can”
Superblood Wolfmoon = “only I can fix it”

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
YEP!! The song sucks and this is one reason why! If they dressed it up a little, put an interesting beat around it maybe, maybe Ed weren't doing his best Sheep in acid bathwater impression, it would sound decent!stip wrote:tree_ wrote:Yep.
