I sympathize with the feeling a "mass market" show shouldn't require homework but I wouldn't want Filoni dumbing it down. Go watch Rebels, you hacks.
I think everyone knows that The Watch is currently down on all non-Andor Star Wars projects, but I think they did a pretty good job separating their wider cultural criticism on “required reading” shows from their opinion that the show just kind of sucks.

I haven't listened to it. But I already know what they're gonna say. It isn't actual "criticism." They want everything to be a certain way and they have a hard time experiencing something that isn't exactly tailored to them.

All of this is irrelevant.

We’re never gonna see a better happier bigger FUCK YES Star Wars moment than Luke turning up in that episode of Mando.
Ever. We’re just not. And we should be happy we got to see that

It was so perfectly done and I was screaming and crying and Fucking losing it.

I wasn’t alone.

I generally agree with CR and Andy on everything SW-related. Andy, in particular, usually has well thought out and articulated takes. This time was just whining. This is the first time we’ve deviated.

Marva and her stirring speech begs to differ with that awful CGI they used for Luke’s face.

That's not my personal experience with Star Wars. But I fully understand, respect, and acknowledge the power that has/did have for so many fans. :heartbeat:

Luke's CGI wasn't even bad. I don't know why some nerds get so bent out of shape about it.

It was video game quality and was made to look even worse when a YouTuber came out with a superior deepfake version a few weeks later.

And, adding insult to injury, the making of documentary released later showed the deepfake version ILM was testing initially looked better than what they went with in the episode.

That moment needed to be fully immersive to have its desired impact and seeing video game Luke was a distraction that took me right out of the moment. I seem to be in the minority but I think everyone who thought it was fine is wrong. :D

I think they're providing a fan service by skipping it.

Episode 5 runtime for AHSOKA is '49 mins 50 sec' long. It's directed by Dave Filoni

So that’s gonna be the one

Ignore that for a second and remember what happened

Luke turned up and was a fuckin Jedi obliterating an army the episode showed us even one of them alone was almost impossible to beat and takes them all out with ease. It’s shot so beautifully and the score is fuckin on every point amazing.

The music in the classic Star Wars tradition is telling you it’s him all the way through but you couldn’t see him all you got was a hooded figure and we all were frantic going is it him??
And then his green lightsaber

I could go on about that all day it’s probably my favourite moment in all Star Wars. It certainly is my favourite of the tv element of it

It’s the best thing to happen since ESB.

Now that’s classic B but in the best way :)
