Most of the conversations I've read don't mention race. I get that black women have faced discrimination over their hairstyles and whatnot, but I do not see how this joke (lame or not) came from a place of racism.
yt people slyly make it about themselves by pretending this is a race issue. Its not.

again, I'm not surprised by any of this either; I spent most of my life around "nothing about race"
So is your defense that white guys can't ever see racism? Many of us live in America, and there's plenty of it here. I see it all the time. Just not here. Your argument is framed as being sympathetic to minorities, but coming across as anger towards white guys.
"anger towards white guys"? really?

I ask you, have any of the victims in this incident mentioned anything about race? no. They haven't.

This is America. Everything is about race, like it or not.
But this isn't about race. Everyone has their personal interests and lenses that they read things through, and for some people that's race. I think they're wrong in this instance

I remember documenting exactly how your position has shifted earlier in this thread. But I don't think you're wrong that this apology is not a transparent document, exactly.

Mickey's lens which he reads everything through is is "class". Just say something mean about rich people and he'll understand

yes
Jada has commented on stigma against Black hair in at least one article I've read; she has talked about growing up as a child with the stigma as well as having to exist with it in the professional world

Common (and better) ideology than what we got during/after the Reagan era.
