Why in the hell would he give up the dh when he had fuld on the bench to go into rf? Then the whole pitching to pedroia with the infield back up one in the 9th in a must win game. That might have been the most poorly managed game I've ever seen, but because he puts his arm around the sports writers hes a genius. He's Ozzie guillen with glasses if you ask me.

He sacrificed the DH because the other option was sliding Delmon Young into Myers spot. But if he did that Young would now be the 9th guy up and as it stood and probably wouldn't see another at bat. Maddon couldn't afford to push potential game tying hitters to the back of the lineup. It made sense.
