Post-Waters!
I don't know! But no one else is saying post-Waters either, they're just saying "It doesn't sound like Pink Floyd" and I'm like yes it does.
Yeah, I can definitely get a whiff of Learning to Fly-era PF here. Though that's but one influence in it.
Sure. It's also Springsteen, filtered through boy bands and Robbie Williams.
You keep saying these things, and they're not good things.
I'm just not scared of them. I've often loved PJ but not cared much for their influences.

It's only free if you bought LB.

pnjguy wrote:Certainly not my type of Pearl Jam song. But surprised that i wasn't bothered by it like i thought i would. It's pretty and Ed isn't cringeworthy, he's actually very good. I should hate this song more than i do. That being said, it sounds very dated and I'm not really into it. I will definitely take a piss break during this at a show, but the same could be said for Betterman.
This is kinda how I'm feeling about it. I don't hate it, but it's just not really my kind of music.

Same song, but better quality. It's not an alternate take if that's what you mean.

(I could be totally wrong.)
Where is this free download. I pre-ordered Lightning Bolt but do not see any free download.
I'm going to start banning people who blatantly ignore the front page.

"If you pre-ordered "Lightning Bolt" at pearljam.com, go to MY ACCOUNT>ORDER HISTORY>VIEW your Lightning Bolt order and click Mind Your Manners-Sirens in your desired format."
I never knew of a front page until now. Wow I'm setting that as my home page!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like you're telling me that if I buy a flat hamburger-like patty at McDonalds after work, they'll throw in a free stale bun.

For the first fifteen or so seconds the drums seem offbeat and out of place.

Also, the tone of the song reminds me a lot of Foreigner's "I Want To Know What Love Is"

Matt fucks up the intro, that's why. It put me off the live version until about the third time and then I could ignore it.

Seeing a Roger Waters gig and writing a David Gilmour song is exactly what I'd expect from Mike.

Just finished watching the video for this song. I don't know why I like this, but I'm pretty sure that I do................ I have a 1 year old son, though I'm also pretty sure he hasn't affected my musical tastes. That "let me catch my breath to breathe" line is stupid though.

I was starting to like sirens. I didn't love it. I still don't. But this was a big step in the right direction. I think this take is better than the album version (Mike especially, but also stone's part and the extended outro) almost across the board. And this was a heartfelt sincere song trapped in a style defined by its excess and ridiculousness. The only way to do this right is to have people playing it live, to themselves, in their own dark and intimate space.

This was a good performance video.

I've pre ordered my share of albums without being able to get anything before release. I think 10c is actually doing something that makes sense here.

I don't hate this one, but I don't like it as of now either. Maybe 2.5 stars at this stage. Maybe it'll improve, but I don't know.

I'm in the same boat. I keep listening, and I keep not caring much. I really want to get into this, I promise.

Still holding out hope for the album overall, though.
they say you need to have kids to really get it.
But I have kids.
better get a paternity test.

Think we'll ever get a non-BO'B semen encrusted version of LB one day?
