I'd rather let old people vote than some of the idiot 30-somethings I know. At least old people are consistent in their logic.

30-somethings: Religion is evil, but don't criticize Islam; Science is king, but GMOs and chemtrails are real; I hate the government, but cops can do no wrong.

Old people: Fuck you! Don't take our money!

Old people are also more militarily aggressive, a step behind the country in social values, are less supportive of education and other services aimed at children, and are more likely to disbelieve/care about environmental destruction or economic policies that will create serious problems down the line. Most all if us will experience measurable cognitive reduction in our old age, and will be no more informed than we were at 30.

On the plus side, we'll probably all still be working when we're 70, so we won't have any more free time to vote than our kids.

Everyone sucks.

Too much time for cable and internet news in old age. Repetitive messages, prescription drug advertising, circular arguments.

Compulsory voting would drastically change things in much of the US, considered how several Republican-controlled state legislatures have been trying to make it harder to vote. So that idea is DOA if they're in charge.

Ugh, I don't know why I keep watching all these debates. Not sure if it feels like I'm eating my vegetables or if it's straight out masochism.

The last GOP debate was the first one I've missed in several election cycles. I'm not watching this one either.

I did a quiz on Facebook yesterday and it says my interests are aligned 75% with Sanders, 75% with Clinton, and 73% with Trump. I think the next one after that was 66% Carson.
