It’s Only Natural / She’s a Lover / Whatcu Thinkin’ / White Braids / Let ‘em Cry are all in a similar wheelhouse of laidback mid-tempo funk with some killer musicianship. No love for these ones?

I like them but not as much as the ones I mentioned.

Really, the only song I disliked was Not the One. Everything else I enjoyed, but those 7 I mentioned sat in the elite spot for me.

I haven't gotten a chance to get more than 5 songs into this yet, and I'm not a huge RHCP nor have I paid attention beyond By The Way, but I like what I hear so far. It just feels right.

I’ve cut Black Summer, Not the One, and Veronica from my streaming playlist, and might play around with the sequencing a bit. I like having four sides to the LP because it makes things more digestible, and those songs I’ve cut from the digital version will still get the occasionally showcase on my turntable.

Black Summer gained a lot to me, and that live performance was really cool.

I can look past that accent. I liked it from the get go. Kind of a moody way to open the album.
