I think it was ‘01 or maybe ‘02 when we saw him. Same reaction.

Just watched this. Excellent. Last 10 minutes were spent with a bible and I'd gladly take another hour of religious material from Louis.
Is it better/worse/on par with his comeback special?

There were no jokes in the first four minutes of his being on stage so I quit. I'd be interested in Will Smith content, though

Not a lot of jokes in general, it seems. Watched the first 10 miserable minutes then fast forwarded to see the Will Smith stuff. just the lamest shit in the universe, completely unfunny. Every time I happen to dip into one of these specials I feel more and more justified in my stance on standup (that it's a trash artform and I am glad it's dying)

A lot of stand-up is corny and/or predictable, but I'm not sure that it's dying. Maybe a little wishful thinking on your part there.

There is great stand-up in the world. There is OK stand-up in the world. There's is bad stand-up, like any other art. What I saw last night shouldn't even qualify as stand-up. Just because you say something in the classic Chris Rock cadence doesn't mean it's a joke.

An OJ joke? Really?

Feels very old-fashioned.

I just want to skip to the Will Smith stuff.
