I could be wrong but I thought 90% effective meant 90% of people who take it won’t get anything more than minor symptoms. Does it necessarily do anything else?

Also, accidentally landed on the first page of this thread. I think we took it seriously even back then. For the most part. Compared to the general public, anyway.

If you get Pfizer and Pfizer runs out before your second dose, you have to start over with another brand. Then you've sucked at least 3 doses out of the supply, instead of just 2.

I'm sure the argument at the CDC to decide this was long and loud.
Or, if this difficult to store stockpile has fallout due to failing refrigeration systems or whatever else you might still have that issue. One jab is better than no jab.

Oh, I don't agree with it. I'm of the opinion people should just mix and match vaccines, but I'm not qualified to estimate the impacts of such an action.

SO if the Pfizer 1st shot is about 50% effective, then I get a shot of Moderna at 90%, then I'm looking at 140% protection

Does that mean I exude protection to other people when I'm in public? So I'll cough on people and give them protection. We should all do that!

In a Friday phone call, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows told Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Stephen Hahn that his job would be in jeopardy if he didn’t approve the emergency use of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine by the end of the day

If this occurred its an unalloyed good. Vaccine was available when? Should've allowed volunteers to take it back in February.

FDA waiting half a month to hold the meeting for approval? In a just world these people would fear for the continued structural integrity of their kneecaps.

Why not just let people take it if they want to? We let people smoke crack in Portland. I bet plenty of people would have rolled the dice, especially since we've known for a long time now it was going to get approved.

Our public health overlords are going to get every last drop out of this. We'll be waiting on unborn babies to get vaxed before we can see a movie again.

so we'll have to wait until April for one of the three 95% successful vaccines instead of Feb for one of the vaccines, so that some babies can get it first

what's the big deal?

people wait two more months for a lot of things

then once it's out its gonna be a fucking kegger in the streets every night for like 8 months

people are going to be sexing in the bars like crazy

there will be a baby boom no doubt

as once secluded singles reunite in a rampant fury of orgy

What bars? The bankrupt ones? I suppose we could all meet up at French Toilet or whatever that place is called.

The ones owned by the mob that are only temporarily closed

it will be like when prohibition ended

the mob will just flood the streets with booze

Now we can't take the vaccine because Trump forced the FDA to give the EUA though!!
