"After losing 103 games last season, the Twins have to go down as one of the most unlikely playoff teams ever. Indeed, no team has ever lost that many games and made the playoffs the following season (the 1991 Braves, 1999 Diamondbacks and 2011 Diamondbacks made it after losing 97 games the previous season). Sure, they benefited from a weak AL wild-card race, but their offense took over in August and averaged 6.02 runs per game these final two months, most in the majors." - David Schoenfield

Congrats, maybe it will be as good a Series as 91
It will be hard to be as good as the best WS ever, but let's hope! I'm just happy that they beat the long odds and made the postseason. I'd be thrilled if they can win the WC game, anything more than that would be awesome. It's been a fun season and a great ride.
I guess i should start watching baseball again
You should at the very least watch the game Tuesday night.

I have hope for Tuesday night, but if history has anything to do with the outcome the Yankees will probably crush the Twins' dreams yet again. :gomez:

This season has been a blast because it was so unexpected. Last year was dismal for the same reason.

Seems like an odd choice to name an award after, he only won one. Have no problem with it, just seems like they wanted to name an award after him.

Really wish MLB would push the Hank Aaron award more. The original idea was that would be equal to the Cy Young award. Aaron award to the best hitter, Young award to the best pitcher, opening up the MVP award to the player the player that stood above everyone else, and, helped put his team over the top (giving a lil extra for a player whos team is making the playoffs).

Pitchers still don't get much consideration for the MVP, and they really don't make that big of a deal for the Aaron award.

Red Sox. You haven't won shit. You won the AL East last year and then shit the bed. Just stop with this shit.

I don't have a problem with celebrating clinching the division. Last year kind of sucked because they had just given up a walk off grand slam, but baseball is a long grind, man.

I have no problem celebrating, just think it's over the top with booze in the clubhouse and spraying it all around. Save that for a real championship. Seems like every team does it, even wild cards, but as more playoff berths happen it gets tired.

It is over the top, and I feel like it has gotten way worse just in the last few years.

Well part of it is that the teams and the league have tried to monetize these celebrations, you kind of have to have one if the team has sold advertising space on the tarps and the celebration post game show has a sponsor.
