Doomsday. It was like Resident Evil, 28 Days Later, Land of the Dead, Escape from New York, Braveheart, Gladiator, Mad Max, and Aliens in a blender. Except, you know, shitty. Neil Marshall is terrible.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

The Revenant.

Well, gotta say i was impressed. I loved it. Its the first time since Amores Perros that i really like a movie from this guy. I thought it was beautifully shot and crafted, some amazing moments ( the horse falling from that cliff) and some good moments all along.

Great movie.

I rewatched Planet Of The Apes today for the first time in like 20 years. I remember at 10/11 being underwhelmed, thinking it was "boring"; definitely too young for it then. But, unfortunately, I feel like I'm a little too old for it now--it's reflections on authority and science/religion would make it a great text for an intro to lit class, but I've crossed over into a point in my life where approaching absolutism with suspicion is a default setting, not a revelation.

But the music in the film is killer, though.
