Classic B! Classic B!
The people posting these setlists are our most reliable insiders, so you'd better strap in, buddy.Huell wrote:Dear God, please don’t let there be a song called ‘ You're Fired! (The President)’... Ed is off the leash if that is true. It looks like we dodged a bullet that Can’t Deny Me is not on it.
That was established a couple of days agolecherouslittlestump wrote:Hearing that B'OB is not producing Gigaton.

What can I say, it got delayed. I am reasonably sure that it's coming out on Monday but my source is how hedging their bets given the last delay. Things move quickly in the world of Pearl Jam. The lens/billboard/album title gained way more interest than they thought it would, and has gone viral and appeared in newspapers across the globe, so they wanted to milk that a bit further over the weekend.Chris_H_2 wrote:you 100% guaranteed a single Fridaylecherouslittlestump wrote:Hearing that B'OB is not producing Gigaton.
They put Supersonic and Speed of Sound on the same album. And back to back, even.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Yeah they aren't legit at all. Lecherous was insistent the single was dropping Friday and it didn't. And that list is bullshit. Two songs on the same album with the word "Earth" in them? Nah. Cold confession is from the avocado sessions. They aren't lazy enough to use a 14 year old song that already leaked, are they?
It leaked but in unfinished form. Much like Whipping did in 1993 or Brain of J in 1995. Granted, we're talking about a much wider time span, but that's the way things are these days. So there is certainly precedent for it.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Yeah they aren't legit at all. Lecherous was insistent the single was dropping Friday and it didn't. And that list is bullshit. Pretty sure it didn't get delayed, dude. If their plan was a scavenger hunt of billboards all over the world, this was the plan for some time now. Why go home?Anders wrote:I like his joke about how you have to be a genius with an understanding of fine art to understand Ed’s lyrics.
lecherouslittlestump wrote:To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Pearl Jam. The music is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Bulgakov or Bukowski most of the lyrics will go over a typical listeners head. There's also Eddie's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his lyrics - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these lyrics, to realize that they're not just slogans - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Pearl Jam truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the anguish in Eddie's existencial lyric "I'm still alive," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Eddie Vedder's genius unfolds itself on their speakers. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Stickman tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
