In the interrogation Kylo sees into her mind and sees the ocean and an island.
She has been there before or is so strong in the force (albeit unknowingly) that she's seeing her own future in a foretelling as Jedi can do.
His interrogation of her seems to be the thing that either awakens the force in her
Or more interestingly breaks whatever seal has been put on her and her memory presumably by Luke?
In the final scene it's clear she knows him as she starts to cry when he removes his hood. And he clearly knows her too.
Also, fairly certain he's standing by a grave in that scene, there's a little headstone popping up to his left.
Her mothers grave?
Her being han and leias isnt possible. Why would they be all sad about Their son lost to the dark side and not one mention or even hint at their 'lost' daughter.
It *is* possible that they both know Rey though, and know that she was hidden in jakku but Can't reveal her lineage as it isn't their place, but they want to protect her anyways so Han offers her a job -
An this is the key to her being Lukes daughter-Leia decides to send her to find Luke. Why doesn't leia go? Why else send a girl who's she's never met?
Could only be cos she's Lukes daughter.
perhaps luke grew strong enough in the force that he was able to create rey by manipulating midichlorians, much like darth plagueis did to create anakin?VinylGuy wrote:dimejinky99 wrote:Few things

I saw the grave too...and yes, she had her memory erased or something for sure.
right, but luke's never had a romantic arc before, and jedi aren't supposed to marry or pursue romantic relationships. this would be a way around that, luke created a "daughter." perhaps why she could see the island, because she'd been there before. also why luke was clearly moved to see her when she showed up with the lightsaber.dimejinky99 wrote:We don't know that Kylo didn't kill Lukes wife/Reys mom.
Awesome theory.dimejinky99 wrote:We don't know that Kylo didn't kill Lukes wife/Reys mom.
*this would give the Rey / Kylo dynamic some serious oomph.
Also Luke being the last Jedi he'd have to search the entire galaxy to find students.
Or he could just make his own and have a kid.

Finn. I felt really disconnected from him in a Star Wars universe

Which apparently he did because in the movie they reference him training young jedi students until Ren screwed it up.dimejinky99 wrote: Also Luke being the last Jedi he'd have to search the entire galaxy to find students.

it's not meant to be a reveal as much as a way to tie all the movies together. i think the possibility of palpatine's former master being the new bad guy is more interesting than it being just another random asshole who wants to rule the galaxy.Simple Torture wrote:I'm lukewarm on the Plagueis theory because it relies so heavily on material from the prequels and material from other sources that most viewers won't be familiar with (comics, EU books, etc.). That reveal would mean nothing to a general audience.
