Curry sleeping on the floor with a towel over his face made me want to run him over with a car.

That didn't take long. KD is apparently now the best player in the game, thanks Paul Pierce for telling the truth.

Re: NBA Thread
The Cavs need to figure out how to get stops. Kyrie can score 50 and it won't matter if they just try to out gun the warriors.
It's not possible, but it would be the only way to win.

There's no figuring out how to get stops. Sure, the Cavs could be marginally less bad, but there is no stopping this team. Maybe they miss all their 3s one of these games but it won't be because the Cavs figured something out.verb_to_trust wrote:The Cavs need to figure out how to get stops. Yep. Literally no reason to watch unless you're fellating yourself while wearing your warrior gear you bought 3 months ago.4/5 wrote:There's no figuring out how to get stops. Re: NBA Thread
Thompson seems to bother Kyrie just enough. Seems like most of his buckets have been against another defender (i.e. Curry).
Also, how washed up are Zaza and Deron Williams?

Re: NBA Thread
All of this was true last year, the Cavs can play better and probably will at some point. I'd imagine they win one of the next two at least because they can shoot better than they have. Durant is the biggest change because obviously he's a LOT better than Harrison Barnes. If they stop shooting as well the games could be much closer.
The Cavs are Lebron/Kyrie/Kevin and a bunch of role players that don't particularly play good defense but they can play much much much better than the last two games. Thompson needs to be getting more rebounds and they can play more physical. Overall it's easy to see that Golden State has across the board a more talented team, but Cleveland still has the best player in the world and some very good ones and really good role players around him. Role players generally play much better at home. After last year we should let this series breathe a little even if the outcome looks obvious.
Kind of enjoying the Hockey finals more though.

I had a friend who argued last night that LeBron has more help than Jordan did. Scottie Pippen was better than Love and Irving combined but whatever.

They are just such different players playing in such different era's. I don't really like the comparison. Lebron is much more like Magic but obviously physically superior. I don't feel like I'm diminishing anything Jordan accomplished or was to respect how good Lebron is right now.

Yeah it's getting more and more difficult to compare the things going on in the modern game to that era.

But by all means, let's celebrate this as the greatest play of all time.
This was a cool play, don't let the hyperbole of social media get you down Verb.

Nope. Never would have happened if he doesn't stop LeBron with the double dribble just to get around him.Monkey_Driven wrote:And Jordan pushed off on Russell...verb_to_trust wrote:https://t.co/IOC7hnWBBG

Jordan on the other hand would have just hit the winner in Russel's face if his harmless push never happened.

Re: NBA Thread
It's pretty much impossible. Offensive efficiency is through the roof these days, teams are spreading the floor opening up wide open lanes to drive...it's a very different than even a couple years ago. So comparing numbers is really tough, but then to try to do a Warriors vs '96 Bulls thing is next level absurd.verb_to_trust wrote:Yeah it's getting more and more difficult to compare the things going on in the modern game to that era.
it's just like comparing today's great QBs to the Marino era when teams threw aggressively downfield and defenders were celebrated for decapitating WRs. It's why I think the best we can typically do is rate players against their own generation.

Re: NBA Thread
Even the triple double is a mirage now. What did curry have, 10 boards last night? When 85% of the shots are launched from 30 feet a pussy like Steph can scoop up the easy rebounds. Its just not as impressive anymore.

It's always been very difficult to compare eras. Look at the numbers Wilt put up when he was playing a bunch of 6'9 white dudes.verb_to_trust wrote:Even the triple double is a mirage now.
