The Maul Death was odd and a little confusing how it actually killed him. And I wish they would stop making me think Chopper was dying. Thats 2 goddamned weeks in a row.
However, Maul dying was done perfectly. Obi Wan becoming New Hope Obi Wan not Prequel Obi Wan was great... and the final shot of Luke in the distance was spectacular.

It bears watching a second time to be clear on that.

I did. Still very vague. Im okay with it, but definitely a sign that Rebels is more kid friendly.

This episode and if next weeks turns out to be as amazing as it looks, gives me a lot of hope.
Especially for this new series whatever it turns out to be. I think it may well be a more adult based series. Let's see though.
Ezra meets obi wan. He hasn't seen another Jedi in forever. And the fact that obi wan gives Ezra advice on how to move forward I think is pretty telling and important. From here I kind of hope they don't kill off Ezra now, but figure out something unique to do with the character. I'm sure they'll kill off Kanan, but after all of Ezra's training from Kanan, advice from obi wan, and dealings with maul, it would really be a shame if they just kill him next season.

I actually think the second half of this season has made Ezra a much more compelling character than he was previously. In some ways it kinda feels like the journey and decisions Luke would be faced with if he hadn't been hidden away.
