I know he accepted the last day but I don’t know if it was during business hours.

So I talked to him again today on the advice of my boss and basically presented it to him as you can either transfer to the other center or not work for us. Based on the many, many times he iterated to us his desire to be in that location we went ahead and began the process of the transfer when we were made aware of the upcoming opening and it’s too far along to reverse. I told him he could think about it over the weekend and I’ll call him Monday for his decision.
If he takes it, he takes it. Not my center, not my problem. If he doesn’t, we rescind his offer, not my problem anymore. He had already told me during our interview he would still be interviewing this week and next so there is a good chance he was going to fuck me anyway.

Yeah probably should have waited to rescind or him officially decline before offering to gal.

Eh. I hadn’t heard anything an hour after business hours in the last night of his time. I feel ok with my move.

As an ex-employee of a major corporation in the US, here's a tip: Always use a "buddy" if you're working from home. If you can't take the stairs, just use a partner who can take the stairs. It works for most jobs.

I’ve had some vividly terrible dreams lately about work situations and I come off like a maniac in my reactions. I should probably retire.

I see we’ve reached the point of the timeline where companies can eliminate their HR depts.

Um, not go away altogether on ours. That would not work, see.

This one is for peeps
Our company went to two-factor authentication a couple of years ago. No one can even log in to their workstation without it. Well, IT sends out an email this morning informing us the system(?) we use for this is down and you won’t be able to log into your workstation this morning. Now, if they can’t log into the workstation, they can’t check their email. If they can’t check their email…

this sounds like the IT dept at my wife's hospital, which is just one super incompetent dude who would've been fired several times over had he worked anywhere else. somehow they've kept him on, even after succumbing to two ransomware attacks within a few years.
