Listened to this on my walk last night. Good god, what an album. The Of the Girl through Sleight of Hand run is as good as it gets.

Every time I go back and listen through Binaural after a long time away from it I gain more appreciation for it. It sounds fucking fantastic, and I never really feel like I've heard every little bit. There's always more to unpack.

And yes, that run from Of the Girl --> Sleight of Hand is wonderful.

Light Years remains the one song on this album that has never "clicked" for me. Well, that and Soon Forget, I guess.

Bwah ha ha Light Years is amazing!

But this exact album is dead to me; I only do the Deluxe Version now.
I went through a long phase where I only listened to the original (alternate) sequence, which I love. Actually doing that made me fall in love with Binaural. And in doing that, it made me more interested in listening to the official release again. I used to rank Binaural at or near the bottom of PJ's albums (this was before Backspacer and Lightning Bolt), now I have it second only to Vitalogy, and I could see it passing that too. I obviously get the love for the alternate sequencing, but after many years of listening to both I think the official release accomplishes exactly what it wants. And it is brilliant in its own right.

Education as the original closer must have been a gag.

Education would have fitted wonderfully as a closer. It has a "hidden track" ish thing to it.

Also, Parting Ways is the best song from this album.

Agree with point A, strongly disagree with point B.

Parting Ways is a total snooze, one of my least favourite songs the band had released at that point. Education makes for a much better closer.

I love the feel and atmosphere of Binaural. Can anybody recommend any other albums that have a similar feel to them?

I think Bob Dylan's Time Out Of Mind has a similar feel. A warm, evening feel of humidity. I know TooM was all recorded at night to specifically get that feeling and songs like NAIS and Of The Girl certainly match it.
