Finally got around to reading Go Set A Watchman. Critics are dumb. This Atticus is real. Lovely and ugly. It's not as good as TKAM, but Atticus is somehow even more admirable as a segregationist.

So, Michael Stipe and Annie Clark both list 'Play It as It Lays' by Joan Didion as one of their favorite books.

I think you might mean the Austrian chapter. It's early-ish. Maybe 200 pages?

Also if you haven't read I The Supreme you should add it to your list. I'm 150 pages in and really loving it, think it'd be right up your alley too.
