Brick was brilliant. Looper was just OK. The second half was pretty damn weak if you ask me.

Not exactly sure what to make of that.

I thought you were seeing "Mud".

I appreciate the gamble of Brick. I get it, I just don't think it works, ultimately. Still, applaud the guy for taking a risk and trying to move a well-worn and long-loved genre in a different direction. Just didn't work for me.

I am saddened to hear that. I like Nate's (Orpheus) assessment of a charlie brown semi-noir gone wrong. Brutal film. Love it.

saw "the company you keep" tonight, I'm being generous giving it a 6/10 pretty unremarkable. but not terribly offensive except for the part where
Spoiler: show
robert redford hikes to a secret cabin to meet an old flame. This just reeked of creepy robert redford fantasy.

It may seem cliche to you when it starts out, but for me it just got better and better. It's sort of like Louie, you think it's just going to be this light comedy but then it goes some places you wouldn't expect. I loved it.

I'm the opposite. Shyamalan is terrible. Smith is a good actor when he's not doing his action star thing.
will smith is a good action star

"How to Die in Oregon" Great movie. Obviously one-sided in its take on "death with dignity" laws and the parts that were against it seemed kinda lame and thrown in. Still, powerful stuff.

It kinda angers me that this is even an issue in a civilized society. If someone would rather die than go through a lot of pain and suffering, why the fuck should we stop them?
