I don't understand how Howard isn't the most hated guy in the NBA.

I mean, LeBron's whole "decision" thing was bad - but at least he made a choice and stuck with it. If LeBron pulled some shit like Howard, people would crucify him....

again, i blame espn/abc for giving these athletes and agents the avenue to make the NBA a "players league."

these prima donnas hold coaches/owners/fans hostage to their whimsies.

lakers GM says they've been informed that howard will not return, so sounds like he's a rocket.

Because Dwight Howard hasn't come out and said ANYTHING himself really. It's just been dueling reports. 5 years ago we wouldn't have heard any of this, instead its just different reports and sources that have revealed his process. So there really isn't any reason to hate him over it. Hate the "I GOT THE SCOOP" media, which is actually just writers making shit up, hoping they're the ones that were the first to guess right.

I used to think this but its not 2009 anymore. Biggest douche in NBA right next to Wade. Lebrons demeanor during the last two seasons has pushed him a little further down this list.

Totally. Lebron has become more bearable, Howard has just gotten consistently more and more unlikable as his career has gone on.

I agree with this. And this is coming from a Cleveland guy.

you a lakers fan? otherwise, who cares?
Hell no. It just amazes me how much coverage this guy gets, and he's not even that good. And it amazes me how he thinks he is an elite player and eats it up.

I think Kobe is a douche but I'm starting to feel bad for him.
Statistical metrics disagree with you. The guy still put up great stats recovering from a back injury. He may not be at his 2009 peak but he's still arguably the best center in the league. Kind of a self absorbed clown, but still an elite player.

best in the league isnt that big of a deal

its not like theres a ewing, robinson, smits, shaq, dream, eaton or others

now you have; bosh, davis, jordan , kwame, cousins, diaw, asik, m gasol, noah, splitter. not exactly a gallery of great centers to say the least.

is kobe a douche, dont know the man personally but id say hes more of a guy who expects everyone to be serious and play harder than they ever have.

here is a good eye-opener

just my opinion, but id rather play with a guy who it pains to lose than to play with a guy who will laugh it off

It is a different league now than it was 10-20 years ago. Centers are often asked to do much more than traditional centers. You still need a paint presence on defense and Dwight has arguably been the best at that for the past 6 to 7 seasons. He is also a monster on the pick and roll, the go to play in today's NBA.

I agree about playing with a guy who cares about winning more than his image.
