IndieCast explained that because there are so many tours at the moment, there's a shortage of talent (tour managers/soundos etc) and equipment (vans/gear etc) which is driving up costs as well.

Additionally, as there's so many touring bands in the major cities there are lots of similar genre bands playing on the same dates leading to the crowds being split. The way around that was the Spoon/Interpol double headliner tour.

Mick Mars of Motley Crue calling it a career.

I think that whole thing is a joke. I couldn't very/identify/confirm/name any single member of Motley Crue, though. So what do I know

When they first got back together a few years ago, didn’t they have some kind of frame or prop-up he was hooked to that enabled him to stand at shows?

not as far as I know, he's always been able to stand ok. Walkin around I suspect is painful.

Guys, calm down. I didn't even read the statement. It was a dumb joke about not believing "Mick Mars" could be a real name, and furthermore not believing the band even exists anymore, that's all. Dumb joke is dumb.
