When polls showed a great number of Americans wouldn't take the vaccine, Fauci was encouraging reaching the lower limit for what's needed for herd immunity.
Now that more Americans say they are willing to get vaccinated, he's encouraging reaching the upper limit for what may be required.

Although sentiments about vaccines in polls have bounced up and down this year, several current ones suggest that about 20 percent of Americans say they are unwilling to accept any vaccine.

Also, Dr. Fauci noted, a herd-immunity figure at 90 percent or above is in the range of the infectiousness of measles.
“I’d bet my house that Covid isn’t as contagious as measles,” he said.

Los Angeles county recently lost a court case where they admitted they had no reason to believe outdoor dining is riskier than other allowed activities, but that their reasoning for the ban was to discourage people from leaving their homes. If you're already going shopping for essentials and add 15 minutes to get a burrito or whatever, how do we quantify the additional risk? And this in a climate where you don't need to have heat lamps and tents for most of winter.

Some authorities seem to have taken too much of a liking to their newfound public health powers. We need to wear masks for the next two years even though the high risk groups should be vaccinated by summer?

I ordered online once and they were running an hour behind. There were 30 people waiting inside for their meals. Thats okay but outdoor dining is not?

Its not about me, its about the arbitrary selection of which businesses will be destroyed by the state and which will not be.

The risk of any particular activity is less important for these orders than the optics. The powers that be must be shown as doing something, whether or not its a significant factor in transmission.

Lately, I've been looking at women in mesh masks the internet. At first it was just a curiosity thing. I just wanted to see some lips again (not whole lips, just softcore stuff, definitely not anything like full dental). I know, it's still gross.

Long story short, one day, my wife caught me looking at pictures of women in mesh masks from her air sealed side of the plexiglass that divides our living room. She was furious and asked me if that was why my eyes always seemed distracted in our Zoom meetings and threatened to leave me. She said if the daily case count ever dropped below ten she would be out of her side of the house and go quarantine in her own separate building.

Hopefully by coming clean I can get better, and make the best of my miserable existence. Maybe my wife will one day join me again from her side of the plexiglass? She hasn't Zoomed me since a week before Faucimas.

Any advice on how I can save my marriage?
