I'd never accuse The Black Keys of being interesting or anywhere near the level of The White Stripes, but dang if a lot of their songs ain't catchy.

Yeah, I have no hate here. I don't mind their latest, but they ain't moving mountains or anything. But they don't have to either.

Not to mention it’s been at least 10 years since they’ve been considered any sort of torch bearer for rock music. They made themselves the Foo Fighters of the garage/indie sound. Reliably there, decent songs for the masses, ready to play your awards show and bar mitzvah.

I've seen them live twice, and they were very underwhelming. But the studio stuff is fine.

I saw them once and it wasnt a big deal. Pretty boring. I almost saw Dan in Texas once, in a smaller setting...that sounded cool.

But yeah, its been a long time since they did anything close to interesting for me.

I saw them a bunch of times when it was just the two of them and it was really good. Saw them once as a full band I think after El Camino was released at MSG with Arctic Monkeys and it was a fun show but not the same anymore. That was the last time I saw them.

The only time I ever saw them was at Joe Lewis Arena. The venue was too big for them. I think in a theater it would have been a lot more fun.

Magic Potion is the only album of theirs that I ever go back to, but I enjoy songs from all of the albums up to Turn Blue. I've never heard the last two albums.

loud does not equal good though.

Really? When I saw them they were one of the quietest acts I'd ever seen. People kept yelling to turn the volume up.
