Fuck, I was really excited for this after The Other Guys.
Did you watch The Other Guys? How does it compare? If I get blazed will I laugh for 90 mins?
It has its moments, but it's not in the same league. Whoever made this is no Adam McKay.

Yes, in case it wasn't clear, this is not a good movie

"Avengers: Age Of Ultron"

Stupid, worse than Avengers 1.

I watched The Cable Guy today; I was a bit disappointed, but maybe it was just because I had heard it had a reputation as an underground hit. Some of the early scenes were very creepy and funny in their mundanity; as the "tension" and ridiculousness of the plot ramped up, I began to lose interest. I can see how this would've been pretty subversive in 1996, but it comes off as rather tame nowadays.

I watched it over the weekend too. Way too much rushed exposition. The fights continue to look like cartoons. I like the characters though.

Ryan would have been great as the dying girl.

This is exactly what's especially annoying about the two Avengers movies, too much deference to comic books. Winter Soldier had plenty of yakking, but worked beautifully because it took a relateable human story and wrapped modern politics and well shot action around it. It was a good Bourne/Bond film whose protagonist just happen to be 'gifted'. The Avengers movies are basically Bay's Transformers movies but with much better actors.

That's a shame - I was kinda looking forward to seeing this
Just read this in a review. Think this seals it and I won't bother to go and see this.
This movie is so atrocious I kept waiting for Nick Cage to show up.

The Good Shepherd. Fucking LOVED it. There's a palpable, almost unbearable sense of tragedy. I also found it incredibly profound and layered. What a criminally overlooked movie. De Niro should retire from acting and just direct from now on.
