Re: Dark Matter: Official Album Thread
I've only heard Dark Matter, Running and Wreckage. Wreckage is good but I don't think its the 5 star song some are making it out to be.

I actually like the production on the slow and mid-tempo songs (which is more than half the album). The fast ones all sound pretty terrible. Going from Wreckage to Dark Matter is jarring.

Thanks for sharing your initial thoughts! I really hope Setting Sun can grow on you. The second half is just sublime. That outro.
Like you, GtG and RR took some getting used to for me. I was expecting different songs, but can now enjoy these for what they are.
My favourites are pretty much the same as yours, if you just add SoF and Setting Sun to them.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

i was ok with the production of SOF, it had a lot of space between instruments so it was fine.

It's possible the move from Watt's basement to Shangri-La is the reason.Homeboyd wrote:I actually like the production on the slow and mid-tempo songs (which is more than half the album). The fast ones all sound pretty terrible. Going from Wreckage to Dark Matter is jarring.

Helll of alot of compression! Could it be from the Rip? Gigaton kinda took care of that problem…are we there again?tragabigzanda wrote:<Deep sigh>

SOF probably elevated for me more than any other song from iPhone leak to this...React/Respond went the other way.VinylGuy wrote:i was ok with the production of SOF, it had a lot of space between instruments so it was fine.

Data compression isn’t the same as brickwalling the master unfortunately..hlniv wrote:Has to just be from the rip. No wayunLEASHed wrote:Helll of alot of compression! Could it be from the Rip? Gigaton kinda took care of that problem…are we there again?tragabigzanda wrote:<Deep sigh>

Re: Dark Matter: Official Album Thread
Yeah, Dark Matter and Running looked similar. Not an issue with the rip.
