I think How I Live Now and Escape are also on Netflix. You might like those too.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I've seen the marked ones, and definitely liked them from what I remember. It's been years in most cases. I'll add the ones I haven't seen to my queue.tragabigzanda wrote:Seems like you enjoy movies that are maybe a little trippy? How about...
Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas
Eyes Wide Shut
Memento
Waking Life
A Scanner Darkly
12 Monkeys
Donnie Darko
Dogville
Brazil
Non-trippy movies that are also great:
Clockers
Barton Fink
Magnolia
Midnight In Paris
Or you could just binge watch S1 of True Detective.

Re: What movies are you watching?
From this list, you really should see Brazil and Barton Fink; based on the other things you've listed and/or said you liked. Not sure if you'd like Midnight in Paris or not, how do you feel about Woody Allen? I adore Midnight in Paris, FWIW.Kaius wrote:I've seen the marked ones, and definitely liked them from what I remember. It's been years in most cases. And Magnolia is a brilliant film. But it's super long and not for everyone. Are you a PT Anderson fan in general? Have you seen The Master?

I liked The Master, solely for the performances. It underwhelmed me otherwise.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Cool. Then you can probably skip Magnolia for now. You should definitely see it eventually. It's another movie you'll really appreciate for the performances, which are across the board outstanding. Everyone is great in it. But it's over 3 hours long and people don't always "get" it or like it what its saying even if they do "get" it. I adore it and it's still probably my favorite of PTA's movies. But I didn't really care for TWBB outside of DDL and Paul Dano.Kaius wrote:I love DDL. That's a good movie.
