Was not looking forward to Something Special but it kinda reels you in and by the end you're humming along lol. Not my favorite but not as bad as some of the clunkers on recent albums.

Mike really does unashamedly solo all over the place

I agree with this....maybe it was the super low expectations but i was pleasantly surprised by this one. It will never be a favorite on this album but im not its something i'd skip either.
I’m a parent and I love the song. Lyrics are a little cheesy but it’s his kids for crying out loud.
The melody is top notch

I thought the same thing about react / respond. I assumed political at first but over time it started to (like many songs on this album) seem like a broken and contentious relationship possibly. And it made me wonder if Running was political or again about a broken relationship instead…
is Running the "reaction"? I mean, that would lend it an unpleasant bitterness to me but, oh well
album's great!

I can see where the 90s comparisons for Waiting for Stevie come from but it also has lot of DNA of modern day Pearl Jam.

The guitar bridge is pure Yield though in Waiting for Stevie

Not only is Mike unashamedly soloing everywhere, every song is also unashamedly climaxing at the end

I'm happy they could follow up Gigaton with something this good.

In light of all the listening events and leaks, its too bad they couldn't just throw it on iTunes and other streaming platforms early.

I have no idea but imo there is a bitter edge in a few of these songs. (Upper hand and setting sun and scared of fear) so maybe.

yep - got it too of course, as my red 10c variant waits in fucking no man's land. Honestly we should all email them back a snarky response like...

Only one listen in so i cant tell if i like this more than Gigaton but the fact that that even seems like a possibility is a gift.

What songs from this will they play on Stern? I would guess Dark Matter and Wreckage. Hopefully, Won’t Tell if they play a third.

I love that they're just going full-on on every song.
