It just seems like you're saying because a movie has a formula or is a prime example of the "Indie Movie Aesthetic" or whatever that it can't also be human or portray human elements/feelings in they way trag described.

I don't mean to say that. I just meant this movie didn't feel human. Like, it seemed like it was made by a robot or an alien with no concept of actual humans. There are plenty of very human indie movies, of course.

My wife had a similar problem with it -- she felt like the lesbian characters were fake. But then she hasn't had a lot of experience with lesbians, just a few select friends.

On the other hand, I know about a million lesbians, and I thought those two characters were fantastic and totally real -- like, they reminded me of a few middle-aged lesbians in particular.
