Some tough nirvana matchups for me here. I really like Even in his Youth but What the Hell Have I is maybe a top five AiC song. Certainly top 10.

Outside of Jar of Flies (which is magnificent), and about half of S/T, I think AIC were always a pretty crappy band.

I loved a lot of what they did, but they definitely had some misfires, and they're a band I can see turning people off.

Their riffs just got so repetitive for me, and their whole serious brooding thing looks so hokey now. Great singers in that band, but I find the quality of their songs runs the gamut from brilliant to total garbage.

Yeah, but AIC have way more garbage songs than great ones.

Yeah, but AIC have way more garbage songs than great ones.
I'd probably give STP that award. I do think AIC are less consistent than Nirvana or Soundgarden or the Pumpkins, but their high points are really high for me.
And I've found in the light of CC's death that I'm treating all this content as somewhat less hokey than I have for years. It's really reinvigorated a lot of these bands for me.

And this one is genuinely hard, since I do love Even in His Youth, but I have to give it to AIC's weird alterna-metal song this time.
