Best 3 songs in a row

Post by SpectorHD »

What is the best run of 3 songs on a Pearl Jam album?

Ten: Once-Even Flow-Alive
Vs: Go-Animal-Daughter
Vitalogy: Not For You-Tremor Christ-Nothingman
No Code: Hail Hail - Who You Are - In my Tree
Yield: Brain of J - Faithful - No Way
Binaural: Insignificane - Of The Girl - Grievance This one is incredible!
Riot Act: Cropduster - I am Mine - Ghost
Avocado: Marker - Parachutes - Unemployable
Backspacer: Got Some - Fixer - Johnny Guitar

The opening three songs of both Vs and Yield are pretty unfuckwithable.

Oh, I think the title is misleading. These are only my suggestions of the best 3 song stretches on each album. Feel free to post your own!

I am sure I will be the only person to say this, but probably the first 3 on S/T.

Actually I don't think that's the best 3 song run. Just my personal favorite

honorable mentions

Alive-Why Go-Black

Go-Animal-Daughter

Not For You-Tremor Christ-Nothingman

As much as I don't really like VS that opening trio is pretty great.

Stupid Soon Forget. If not for that, any of the songs from track 7 onward on Binaural would suffice. But, that being said,

Why Go --> Black --> Jeremy
Go --> Animal --> Daughter
Not For You --> Tremor Christ --> Nothingman
In My Tree --> Smile ---> Off He Goes
Faithfull --> No Way ---> Given To Fly

I'd have to go with Tremor Christ-Nothingman-Whipping for myself.

I actually think Not For You-Tremor Christ-Nothingman is a better song for song run, but I have always associated Not For You as being the climax of the album's opening act (Last Exit-Spin The Black Circle-Not For You; A great run in its own right), so I have a hard time putting it with two songs that I consider to be part of Act II of Vitalogy (if that makes sense).

MFC-Low Light-In Hiding would be up there for me as well.

As far as the best, I'm not sure anything comes close to the opening of Vs. Not my favourite album but that's because of what follows.
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.
