tablet reboot loop

I pulled out a Samsung tablet the other day and used it. Everything was fine and then I shut it down. Today when I try to boot it up, it gets as far as the flash intro screen and ambient startup music before rebooting itself. This pattern continues over and over again until I plug the charger in. It also won’t charge.

It is slowly and systematically looping itself towards a battery death and when that happens I think that will be the end.

Can you get it into recovery mode?
Hold the Volume Up and Power buttons simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears. The Samsung Galaxy Tab will boot into ASR (Android System Recovery) mode.
