I would never want to meet my idol, especially if it were for more than an autograph or pic.
I remember reading "Heavier Than Heaven" back in high school and loathing Nirvana immediately after. Mind you, I was a Nirvana nut since I was 10. Same with "Riders on the Storm". Now, Jim Morrison and The Doors can suck my chick dick. Vowed never to pick up a bio about anyone I loved ever again. I've avoided everything about the personal lives of Pearl Jam lest I learn to loathe them too. I mention this because getting to know someone you admire, even briefly, can break your heart when you realize they're not like what you imagined.
Granted, this is just a meet and greet, and for a good cause, but I'd risk shattering my perception of him if he open his mouth for anything other than singing.
FYI, it's at 17 grand right now. Someone really wants to get their heart shattered.
