Cavedweller largely didn’t hit the spot for me, which was a huge bummer.
I’ll certainly check this out. Jeff’s stuff has been pretty decent in the past.
You could make a superb mix with the best songs from Matt, Stone and Jeff’s recent(ish) solo albums.

I really have enjoyed his work with Tres Mts. and Rndm. I prefer they make a new Pearl Jam album but I will take what I can get. The two Ament solo albums were both pretty enjoyable to me.

Ament needs collaboration to not produce crap. Mike, matt, stone and Jeff all sound awful when they try and sing on solo stuff.

Not a fan of the solo albums.
I think this is what has made pearl jam as a band, become stagnant. It seems like from the "98-03" the band was happy to let anyone bring in full demos/small ideas and develop them into PJ songs, which is how we've ended up with great PJ album tracks like "no way" "help, help" "NAIS" etc. All these more interesting quirky songs haven't appeared on the last 3 (shit) PJ albums, because the guys knows its easier just to save them for a solo album than to try to convince the band to work on something that's not in the generic PJ mould. PJ feel one dimensional now because of this.
At this stage, if any of the guys have an idea for a song, whatever it is, it should be called "Pearl Jam". Imagine if David Bowie or Neil Young made a side project/changed their name every time they worked with a new musician/tried a new style
I'm sure Jeff will just be happy to take a backseat during the creation of the logical extension of lightning bolt now hes finished a new solo album.

I don't think the solo albums are to blame for their creative malaise.
I think they're just a bunch of middle-aged guys who keep plugging away because they inadvertently stumbled their way into having a strong financial incentive to stick together and no compelling reasons to quit (death of a member, debilitating drug or alcohol addiction, sleeping with a bandmate's wife, etc.)
After this many years, what else could there to be say, musically, with this particular combination of musicians?

Jeff is not a great singer at all...that alone makes his solo albums hard to listen to.
But when you get used to that some of those songs are really good.
His last record 'While My Heart Beats' was great. Some of those songs could have made 'lightning bolt' so much more interesting....

I'd have been in if Dio's ghost did the vocals.

jeff and matt are usually the ones who give us interesting songs, a bit out of the usual so this should have at least a few more gems than LB

Jeff's new album has a single out called Safe In The Car, with a b side called Captain Cook.
Mike and Matt are featured in the first song and you can get the 7¨ in PJ web.
No information on when the whole thing is out yet and i cant find the single on Spotify yet.

this instantly looks better than anything PJ has done in over a decade
