Luminious Times was a perfectly fine b-side in the over dramatic vein of mid-late 80s U2. I never actually listened to Songs of Experience, the thought occurs, so time to give Red Flag Day a listen

Red Flag Day's not bad. Like all the late U2 songs that are pulling from classic U2 for their inspiration it can't help but fail to measure up, but it's clean and not trying too hard (in a good way).

Gonna give Luminous Times my vote, though. U2 heart on sleeve epic tracks from that period always rub me the right way

Luminous Times bored me. Red Flag Day isn’t great, but it’s far superior here.
