Red Hill Mining Town, despite being one of the weaker songs on Joshua Tree, is still pretty great.
It's easy to forget how dirty and scrappy a band U2 was on their first few albums. I'm not a fan of Boy, but October has always had a warm place in my heart for the 80s political garage pop punk feel of that album. I haven't heard this album in a really long time, and this song (not one of my favorites on it) reminded me of how much I am looking forward to catching up with it.
Vote for Red Hill, but both good songs

What I’ve read about Red Hill Mining Town is that it was going to be released as a single, but when you release a song as single, you have to play it every night on tour. That wasn’t going to work since it’s at the top of Bono’s range. So what could have been a song that everyone knows as well as Still Haven’t Found or With or Without You, was instead relegated to life as sort of a deep cut. One of my favorites.
