With a Shout is one of the weaker songs on October, and overplayed or not, Beautiful Day is a pretty great song that captures the feel of Achtung Baby and the spirit of Joshua Tree

Beautiful Day was played on the local Astros affiliate directly after the 18-inning game against Atlanta (Chris Burke HR to advance to the ALCS). That happened to be the same day that we were schedule to move back in to our house after Hurricane Rita ravaged the power grid in our neighborhood. I remember watching the game at my aunt's and waiting out the extra innings for hours before departing back home after being away for a month. Hearing that song on the radio in that context was kind of magical.

Saw them on tour that year a day or two after the Stros ended up being swept in the WS. Biggio, a huge U2 fan, received a standing ovation when he took his seat at the show. Good times.

Beautiful Day, super overplayed but still a great song.

I'm mortified that it's only taken 5 years for my mind to default to the American League when talking about the Astros.

They’ve only been AL for five years? Good lord, it feels longer than that.

"Beautiful Day" is an amazing song, a totally captivating explosion of pure energy and uplift. Easy vote.

Gave With a Shout its first vote. I loved Beautiful Day and that whole album when it came out, but the song has become one I don’t ever need to hear again.

Beautiful Day is a classic. Such an uplifting anthem. I love the bridge and Bono's voice.
