I gave them a try but I feel like I went in expecting elements from those bands and never got it. Probably wasn't fair on my part. *shrugs*

Bands that only have one album I love like that always leave me so unsatisfied. At the Drive-In, Electric Wizard, High on Fire. Why can’t they just make more songs like that, dammit?!

Billy Breathes is great, and I don't care about the rest of their catalog (though I have heard a few more albums in their case).
Double thumbs up. I also know a little more than just Billy Breathes, but only a tiny fraction of the entire Phish catalogue. And I really don’t have much of a desire to get into it much deeper. Admittedly that’s also because Phish has like nine million songs/albums. But goddamn, I love Billy Breathes.

great band! Great drummer! Saw him play with Bob Mould, started listening to Superchunk afterwards
