Batman graphic novels
OK, so I'm not a comic book expert in any way whatsoever, but I'm a huge fan of everything Batman and figured I'd pick up some graphic novels and explore the character some more.
I did some research on which ones were generally regarded as the best, and got a nice list together. So, here's what I picked up.
Arkham Asylum
Black and White
Hush
No Man's Land
Son Of The Demon
The Long Halloween
The Man Who Laughs
The Black Mirror
Year One
Ego
The Dark knight Returns
The Killing Joke
Earth One
Absolution
Joker
So, which are the best out of those and which should I read first?
Any tips are appreciated, thanks!

Gotham By Gaslight is my all time favorite. Bodysnatcher listed the two that I think most would agree are the best. One odd pick that I doubt would ever end up on a best of list but that I always really liked was the first Batman vs Predator.

Most of those are great. You should check out the Night of Owls or Court of Owls from last year. It was excellent. Also we have a comic thread here you should post in. It's usually on the front page here.BootsToAsses wrote:OK, so I'm not a comic book expert in any way whatsoever, but I'm a huge fan of everything Batman and figured I'd pick up some graphic novels and explore the character some more.

Another good pair are the issues penned by Kevin Smith. The downside is he didn't finish the 3rd one. Cacaphony and The Winding Gyre. I enjoyed them both alot.
Less judgement, more curiosity.

I've read these three, and fuck they are good. The artwork on Arkham Asylum is really something else. I really like Hush too because I love the Riddler.BootsToAsses wrote:Arkham Asylum

I also enjoyed the first Batman versus Predator. The Killing Joke might be my favorite though Dark Knight Returns really is something else. I also enjoyed the shit out of Batman & Dracula: Red Rain, might break that one out again soon. From what I remember Spawn/Batman and even Batman-Spawn: War Devil were enjoyable one-shots, been almost twenty years though.HardTI wrote:Man I adore Gotham By Gaslight too!
