Peace on Earth is fine, but Love is Blindness is great.

Love is Blindness is a personal favorite.

Bono (and to a lesser extent Thedge, Larry Mullin Sr's Son and Adam Clay 2000 lbs) has a tendency to get super fucking lazy with a MEANINGFUL sentiment like peace on earth. It almost always turns out bad. He's better with affairs of the heart, but only heartache and cheating and being a bad guy. The Love is so Important stuff is bad too. When he threads the needle he's a fucking genius. When he doesn't, he's a caricature.

That’s pretty damn accurate, but the same could be said for most.

It’s really hard to write consistently deep/great songs for 20 years, or 30 years, or 40.... (see PJ as example numero uno, dos, tres, catorce)
