Are any of you doing your part to support the artists or others that you like? Or are you dirty freeloaders?

I pledge to about 20 or so. Mostly other artists (particularly the ones who share business advice), a couple of podcasts, and classical liberal types.

I pledge to a few people at very basic levels; a couple musicians, a couple visual artists, a couple of podcasters, two Youtubers and one dude who writes scary tweets. I'd feel weird giving $10 a month to someone who barely ever posts content, but I'm OK giving them $3.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

It's been around for a few years now, but up until recently, the interface was terrible. It's gotten a lot better.
I mostly throw a dollar or two at creators, but I pay more for a few if they have some interesting extras, or I want to pick up tips.

I give to two tech reviewers who try to maintain some sort of integrity by not being beholding to various companies. And one transgender artist, who's a friend of my oldest child.

What's the significance of their being trans? Does it add to the artistry?

I have a $5 pledge to one podcast I like. I'm on the fence about doing another one.
