Fuel is one of the very few bands from that era that I might not change radio stations. How's that for an endorsement?

I feel like I'm honour-bound to vote for the South African band, but yeesh.

I thought all these bands were from, like, Wisconsin

Yeah, I was all about "Saron Gas" when I was in high school. Their label forced them to change their name when they came to America because of the mood after 9/11.

They had a song that went "I wish you were a beer, so I could drink you up".

I really liked "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" when it came out. It wins this match up easily for me.

I like both of these songs, but I like Fuel a lot more than Seether. TBH I still think Something Like Human is a front-to-back solid rock album. “Hemorrhage” still works for me, and gets my vote.

I’m really the only person who voted Seether?

I mean, they suck, but that Fuel song is so boring and was overplayed even after anyone stopped giving a shit about Fuel.

This is the 2nd matchup where I only know one of the songs. Fuel.

Abstaining on account of both songs are trash.

I'm actually surprised at how many of the first round songs offer something I can latch on to and appreciate, if not outright enjoy. But these two are are just so devoid of substance.

Reading the wikis for some of these bands... Fuel has had a weird post-success career arc. The singer left and was replaced by some rando (after an American Idol contestant turned down the job...). Then the singer restarted "Fuel" with a bunch of new dudes. There are like 20 current or former members.

The Seether song is way better than that shitty Fuel song, but they’re both still just awful.

First time hearing the Seether song. This is bottom-of-the-barrel shit for me -- a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a....

Fuel has aged poorly (mostly due to the voice) but there's some sense of melody and craft in their better songs. "Hemorrhage" at the very least is well-delivered -- the chorus to this song definitely makes the most of some limited tools.
