Machine Head - "From This Day"

Wish You Were Here is a the first song in this tournament I like. I can’t even remember the last time I heard it though, it’s been years.

"From This Day" is so forgettable. I can never remember any melodies or riffs from it.

"Wish You were Here" is...maybe one of my favorite songs? Like ever? It's so beautiful. Pure warmth and joy.

I don't even know this Machine Head song but I'm voting for it over Incubus.

Yeah I can't think of Incubus as nu-metal

"Wish You Were Here" is a nice song but it's also a good showcase for just how superfluous these DJs were, and how forced their inclusion was to a lot of these songs (at least when their scratches weren't being used to punctuate chugga-chugga riffs). It adds nothing to the song. In fact, it's kind of obtrusive.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing.

WYWH is a very good song. I like the record-scratching personally.

Some of these songs have aged really well and this is def one of them.

This is an easy vote for Incubus. The guitar really is lovely. This Machine Head song is a bunch of nothing.

The whole morning view album is awesome, incubus's best stuff easily

Machine Head is one of my least favorite metal bands ever. Total trend chasing bullshit and whether that means groove metal, nu-metal, "true" metal, thrash metal, nu-metal revival, they fucking suck. Rob Flynn is a loudmouthed pussy too.

So I obviously vote for Incubus. Wish You Were Here jams.

I still enjoy putting on some Incubus every once in a while, and Morning View was a favorite album of mine in my last couple years of high school.

"From This Day" is pretty rote, and definitely boring. "Wish You Were Here" for the win.

I agree that WYWH is a good tune, which is why I probably won't vote for it in future rounds. But the other song just does nothing for me--doesn't even make me laugh.

WYWH is definitely the better song, but it's not really nu-metal, so I'm torn.
