I like both of these songs but I definitely like Hemorrhage more

I'd rather hear Stapp's voice than this guy's... Shimmer annoys me less

well here we are, the toughest matchup of the contest so far for me. i don't really care about either song now, but i liked both of them when they were released. gonna with with Hemorrhage by a small margin due to its overwrought dramatics.
Shimmer is fine and well, but prefer the other song over its poppiness. it suffers from the Matchbox 20 / Hootie and the Blowfish sound that was all the rage in 1998.

The first time in the nu metal tournament that a band is facing itself. "Hemorrhage" is the big hit, the one that put Fuel on the map, or at least that's the way it appeared to me. I think I was into more aggressive music at the time it hit, so I wasn't really into it. It's not a terrible song, just pretty generic.
"Shimmer" has a little more personality, but only just. Scallions has this little Britpop kinda sneer to his vocals that seems kinda unusual for this genre. I think that little bit of attitude puts it over the top for me.

"Shimmer" was one of the bro anthems that got regularly cranked out into the hallway of my dorm building freshmen year. I'm still burnt out on that song because of it. "Hemorrhage" all the way.
